Welcome to the Wingate Scholarships 20th Anniversary web site.
Wingate Scholarships was 20 years old in 2008. During that time, The Harold Hyam Wingate Foundation has, through Wingate Scholarships, given awards amounting to £6.5m to nearly 1,000 scholars. These awards have made an enormous amount of difference to a relatively large number of scholars from many countries in a very wide variety of fields of academic endeavour.
In order to celebrate the success of the scheme over the past 20 years, this web site has been created to act as a living archive containing contributions from Wingate Scholars past and present who have wished to share their experiences of what receiving a Wingate Scholarship has meant to them and their continuing education and careers.
We have also included representative contributions from some of our Academic Advisors upon whose expertise and time we rely for the assessment and interviewing of our candidates each year.
Using the links on the left you can access the contributions from scholars and the academic advisors. You may also search for a particular scholar by name or by subject, year of scholarship or nationality.
Tony Wingate has also written a short history of the Foundation.
